ABSTRACT:
Described is the use for augmenting or enhancing the flavor of foodstuffs of a product containing isomers of caryophyllene alcohol and other compounds produced by isomerizing caryophyllene oxide using an aluminum isopropylate catalyst in a toluene solvent at temperatures in the range of from about 100.degree. C. up to about 150.degree. C. and then fractionally distilling the resulting reaction product and isolating certain fractions of the reaction product.
