Described for augmenting or enhancing the aroma or taste of foodstuffs, chewing gums, toothpastes, chewing tobaccos and medicinal products are certain prins reaction products and derivatives thereof of diisobutylene defined according to the generic structure: ##STR1## wherein one of the dashed lines represents a carbon-carbon double bond and the other of the dashed lines represents a carbon-carbon single bond and wherein R represents hydrogen or acetyl.
