ABSTRACT:
Flavors in foods are enhanced by addition to the food of 1,8-dihydroxy-2,9-dithia-tricyclo[8.4.0.0.sup.3,8 ]tetradecane and derivatives thereof having the formula: ##STR1## and 1,7-dihydroxy-2,8-dithia tricyclo[7.3.0.0.sup.3,7 ]dodecane having the formula: ##STR2## where R.sub.2 to R.sub.9 and R.sub.11 to R.sub.18 are the same or different, and are an alkyl group containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a hydroxyl group, or hydrogen; and R.sub.1 and R.sub.10 are the same or different, and are an alkyl group containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, hydrogen, acetyl, phenacyl, or benzyl.
