A clincher mechanism7is provided with a clincher member10having an inductive guiding face11for bending and guiding staple legs; a sheet-shape piece12arranged between the inductive guiding face and sheets; and operating pieces18for advancing/retracting the sheet-shape piece12onto the inductive guiding face of the clincher member10. The staple legs penetrated the sheets are guided along the lower surface of the sheet-shape piece12, and the sheet-shape piece12is operated by the action of operating pieces18so that it is extracted from between the staple legs. A paper pan26for guiding the sheets is arranged swingably above the clincher mechanism7. The operating pieces18are operated through the paper pan26which is swung by the action of the staple driving portion2.
