ABSTRACT:
A getter for use in manufacturing an electric discharge tube contains a mixture of barium aluminum (BaAl.sub.4) and a titanium-containing material which contains for at least 50% by weight of FeTi or NiTi.sub.2 or of a mixture thereof.
