ABSTRACT:
An expanded graphite sheet of very large mechanical strength can be produced by compressing a graphite expanded to not less than 50 times as large as normal state in average to be 0.02 to 0.3 g/cm.sup.3 in bulk density, grounding the compressed graphite particles, preparing a slurry together with a fibrilated aramid pulp fiber, and applying a wet process to the slurry to be prepared into a paper.
