ABSTRACT:
A software system to provide a true-parallel, client-server system comprises a server52. The server52comprises any suitable system for using and supporting an operating system54. The operating system54is operable to create and delete processes, as well as manage server resources. The operating system54is further operable to provide a well-known address56with an associated buffer58. The operating system54is further operable to support the notification system60to notify a plurality of processes, in parallel, that information has arrived at the well-known address56and that the information has been stored in the buffer58. The plurality of handler processes62are operable to accept and remove, in parallel, pending requests from the buffer58. The spawner process64is operable to initialize the well-known address56and spawn handler processes62. The server52communicates with the clients50via the network66. The clients comprises suitable systems for generating and transmitting requests over a network66. The network66is any suitable system for communicating data between the plurality of clients50and the server52.
