ABSTRACT:
A radiation detector10has a base12and a window16that define a vacuum chamber20. Within the vacuum chamber20is a temperature controlled filter32and a focal plane array (FPA)22defining a gap h therebetween. The filter32is heat sunk to a readout integrated circuit (ROIC)24and thermoelectric elements28to inhibit heat transfer from non-scene sources38, 40to the FPA22. The temperature controlled filter32may also incorporate a bandpass filter to reflect all sources of radiation not within the desired wavelength region of interest. The temperature controlled filter32is maintained at substantially the same temperature as the FPA22.
