ABSTRACT:
A synthetic traction fluid comprising, as a base oil, at least one ester or its derivative selected from monoesters, diesters, triesters and derivatives thereof represented by the formula: ##STR1## where Y is independently selected from ##STR2## --(CH.sub.2)n--OH A' is an ester linkage, n is an integer of 1 to 3, and R.sub.1 is independently selected from hydrogen and alkyl groups having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, with the proviso that at leas tone Y is ##STR3##
