ABSTRACT:
A surface acoustic wave apparatus comprises a piezoelectric substrate17on the bottom face of which IDT electrodes3and4and an annular ground electrode6which encloses the IDT electrodes3and4and is connected to the IDT electrode3, and a base substrate on the top face of which an annular ground conductor7is formed and which has an internal ground conductor layer10aand a bottom face ground conductor layer11aconnected to the annular ground conductor7and an internal ground conductor layer10band a bottom face ground conductor layer11bconnected to the IDT electrode4. A first ground conductor composed of the internal ground conductor layer10aand the bottom face ground conductor layer11ais electrically separated from a second ground conductor composed of the internal ground conductor layer10band the bottom face ground conductor layer11b. The apparatus has an excellent out-of-band attenuation characteristic.
