ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to a process for preferentially and selectively hydroformylating .alpha.-olefins present in a mixture of .alpha.-olefins and internal olefins, said hydroformylation being catalyzed by a class of ligand-stabilized platinum (II) dihalide complexes in combination with Group IVB metal halides.
