ABSTRACT:
A screen (i) for use in forming a patterned paper by a wet-laying technique. The screen is of a mesh material (2) that is pervious to water and has formed therein repeats of pattern forming elements3a–c,4a–dand5which are defined by an area of at least partial blockage of the mesh and which are bounded by mesh that is not blocked to drainage. The pattern forming elements have a maximum are of 100 mm2that is blocked to drainage. The screen may be used for producing patterned tissue paper from which tea and coffee bags may be produced.
