ABSTRACT:
A recording medium for information comprising a substrate, a recording layer provided on the substrate, in which crystalline phases and amorphous phases are reversibly created in accordance with irradiation energy of a light beam irradiated onto the recording layer, wherein the recording layer includes a ternary alloy having the same composition as an alloy of InTe and In.sub.50-X/2 Sb.sub.50-X/2 Te.sub.X (where X satisfies 20.ltoreq.X.ltoreq.45), i.e.,
