The invention relates to a new process for the preparation of aminodiaryl sulfoxide derivatives of the formula (I), ##STR1## wherein X is halogen, alkoxy having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms or a group --(N,R,R.sup.1), in which p1 R and R.sup.1 are hydrogen or alkyl having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms,
