Press shoe of a shoe press unit and a machine including press shoe. The press shoe includes at least two lateral edge areas, which are structured and arranged to be positioned adjacent web edges, and a central area lying between the at least two lateral edge areas. At least in some sections of the at least two lateral edge areas are structured to have a lower bending stiffness than in the central area.
