ABSTRACT:
A material for optical recording by utilizing the photochemical hole burning is disclosed. The optical recording material is a composition comprising a watersoluble deuterated polymer as a host component and a water-soluble organic pigment dispersed in the host component as a guest component. By virtue of the deuteration of the host component, the tunnel effect of the hydrogen atoms in the host component is prevented, so that the hole width is narrowed. Thus, the wavelength multiplicity is increased.
