ABSTRACT:
An optical connector has a simple structure and a method of attaching an optical fiber cord to the connector is easy. The connector1includes: a plug part2which has a capillary5provided at the front and containing a built-in optical fiber6and which includes a mechanical splicing portion7capable of allowing an optical fiber51to be inserted from the rear so as to be fixed therein; a caulking stand35capable of holding a sheath by radially contracting in a state in which the optical fiber cord50is inserted therein; a caulking ring45provided outside the cylindrical portion36of the stand35so as to hold the tension member52between the ring45and the stand35;and a coupling body20provided behind the plug part2and accommodating the stand35and the ring45.
