ABSTRACT:
An agent for enhancing brightness and opaqueness in paperboard comprises a reaction product selected from the groups consisting of:A) an amide reaction product of a C12-C22fatty acid, condensed with an amine selected from monoalkanol amines, dialkanol amines or diethylene triamine or a mixture thereof.B) an amide reaction product of a triglyceride of a C12-C22fatty acid condensed with an amine selected from monoalkanol amine, dialkanol amine, or diethylene triamine or a mixture thereof.C) an amide reaction product of an ester of a C12-C22fatty acid condensed with an amine selected from monoalkanol lower alkyl amine, dialkanol amine, diethylene triamine or a mixture thereof; andD) an ester reaction of a C12-C22fatty acid condensed with an alcohol selected from glycerine, ethylene glycol or propylene glycol.
