ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to new substituted dihydropyridine derivatives of the general formula (I), ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.6 are as defined herein after, the racemic and optically active variants as well as mixtures thereof, furthermore the acid addition salts of these compounds, pharmaceutical compositions containing the same and a process for the preparation thereof.
The compounds of the general formula (I) can be advantageously applied for the treatment of pathologically severe hypertensions, their toxicity is low and they possess an advantageous therapeutic index.
