ABSTRACT:
An emulsifier comprising the reaction product of a substituted succinic anhydride and a nonionic water-soluble compound having 1 to 3 reactive polar groups. There is also disclosed a stable substituted succinic anhydride
onionic emulsifier composition, a method for imparting water repellency to surfaces containing groups reactive to anhydrides, and a method for the sizing of paper using said composition.
