ABSTRACT:
In a technique for copying a multipage document, a document feed roller and a paper feed roller are started when a document to be copied is sensed, so that image information is scanned by a scanner and copied onto sheets of paper. After this operation, a determination is made as to whether or not the next sheet of the multipage document exists. If so, the copying operation continues, but the paper feed roller stops while the document feed roller continues to be driven if the transporting distance is greater than a predetermined distance.
