ABSTRACT:
A movable robot comprising an oscillating circuit for oscillating to output an oscillating frequency signal, a microcomputer for controlling the overall functioning of the movable robot, an ultrasoniciwave sensor for sensing obstacles in response to a first operating signal from the microcomputer, infrared-ray transmitters for emitting infrared-rays in response to second and third operating signals from the microcomputer and the oscillating frequency signal from the oscillating circuit, infrared-ray receivers for receiving the infrared-rays reflected off the obstacles and for outputting resultant infrared-ray receive signals, an illumination sensing circuit for sensing illumination in the vicinity of the movable robot, sensitivity control circuits for controlling sensitivities of the infrared-ray receivers in response to an illumination sense signal from the illumination sensing circuit, an infrared-ray receive signal transfer circuit for transferring the infrared-ray receive signals from the infrared-ray receivers to the microcomputer, and a wheel driving circuit for driving wheels of the movable robot in response to a drive control signal from the microcomputer that varies with the transferred infrared-ray receive signals.
