ABSTRACT:
A flexible crack-resistant and chemically resistant thermosetting vinyl ester resin is produced by co-reacting an epoxy resin, a carboxyl terminated elastomer and an unsaturated monocarboxylic acid, such as acrylic or methacrylic acid. The neat resin is miscible and copolymerizable with ethylenically unsaturated monomers such as styrene. A novel cast pipe utilizes the resin of the invention as an unreinforced crack-resistant inner lining. This abstract is neither intended to define the invention of the application which, of course, is measured by the claims, nor is it intended to be limiting as to the scope of the invention in any way.
