ABSTRACT:
A method for determining the air bubble size distribution in fresh concrete, the air bubble distribution in fresh, or green, concrete being identical to the composition in hardened concrete, and an air bubble system consisting of finely divided bubbles being desirable for the purpose of protecting the concrete against damages caused by frost for example, comprises expelling air bubbles (62) from a sample of fresh concrete (28) by agitation utilizing a magnetic agitator (15), passing the expelled air bubbles (62) released into a bubble preserving sample suspending medium (16), preferably being superposed by another medium (17), registering as a function of time at appropriate intervals the size and amount of air bubbles and determining the air bubble size distribution utilizing the analysis result.
