A method for exchanging a buzz signal between two different subsets attendant to a keyphone system with a buzzer pair table is disclosed. The buzzer pair table has information associated with pairs of any one subset and its corresponding other subset to be called by said buzz signal, and the subsets each have a buzzer key producing the buzz signal.
