ABSTRACT:
A method and system for initializing at least one hardware device of a computer system are provided. The method includes storing reference data of the hardware device, the reference data including data required for operation of the hardware device within the system. Thereafter, current data is retrieved from the hardware device and compared to the reference data to determine if the hardware device has changed subsequent to storage of the reference data. If the hardware device has not changed, the reference data is used to initialize the hardware device.
