DESCRIPTION:

BRIEF SUMMARY
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to an installation for supplying and removing rolls automatically to a roll changer by use of a track-guided transport car. Both the roll supply and roll removal tracks are located on the same side of the roll changer.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART

A prior method for transporting rolls to a roll changer is known from DE 36 27 454 A1. There, a roll provided with adhesives is loaded directly onto a transport car, which supplies these prepared rolls to the roll changer from a first side. The full roll is removed from the transport car which is now empty. This empty transport car then transports an unwound roll remainder out of a second side of the roll changer.
The company brochure "WIFAG-Information 11/12" describes an installation for supplying and removing rolls to and from a roll changer. A single track is assigned to this roll changer on each side.
In this prior art arrangement the supply of the rolls takes place from one side of the roll changer and, depending on the embodiment, the tubes are transported on the same track or on a second track arranged on an opposite side of the roll changer.
EP 0 391 061 A1 describes a set-up station for a paper roll which is placed upstream of a roll changer. On one side, this set-up station has a first track for supplying the paper roll, and a second track on the opposite side for removing the paper rolls.
A blind track is additionally provided for receiving a special removal transport car in a stand-by position.
DE 39 10 444 A1 discloses an installation for supplying paper rolls to the roll changer of a rotary printing press. In this installation the paper roll is transported by means of a track leading into a first side of the roll changer, and is transported out by means of a second track on the opposite side of the roll changer.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has the object of providing an installation for supplying and removing rolls automatically to a roll changer.
In accordance with the present invention, this object is attained by using a track-guided transport car. Both roll supply and removal tracks for the cars are located on one side of the roll changer.
The advantages which can be achieved by means of the present invention reside, in particular, in that only one side of the roll changer must be accessible. Moreover, a portion of the transport paths extending in the longitudinal direction of the roll changer can also be used for removing the roll remainders. If a seperate track is provided for each of the operations of supplying and removing the rolls, the supply and removal process can take place simultaneously. The roll remainder can furthermore be temporarily deposited on its own track.
Temporary storage directly at the roll changer is possible by means of "blind tracks", so that a great availability of the rolls is provided even with time-critical operations during roll changes.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The installation for transporting rolls in accordance with the present invention is represented in the drawings and will be described in greater detail in what follows.
Shown are in:
FIG. 1, a schematic representation of an installation for the transportation of rolls;
FIG. 2, a schematic lateral view of a transport car with two receivers;
FIG. 3, an enlarged schematic representation of the rails in FIG. 1 arranged in the area of a roll changer;
FIG. 4, a schematic lateral view of a roll changer.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

An installation for the automatic transport of upright rolls 1 from a storage facility 3 to a roll changer 2 of a rotary printing press is constructed as follows:
The upright rolls 1 are transported from a storage facility 3 for a month's supply by a clamping forklift 4 to a roller surface, not represented, and are deposited thereon horizontally (i.e. with a longitudinal axis of the horizontal roll 7 approximately horizontal). The rolls 7 are brought to a first slat conveyor 6 by this roller surface. This slat conveyor 6 transports t
