ABSTRACT:
An image processing apparatus of this invention includes a unit for calculating an average value in a first block pixel area including an objective pixel, a unit for calculating an average value in a second block pixel area including the objective pixel, and a binarization unit for determining, as a binary output of the objective pixel, a binarization result obtained by binarizing the average value in the second block pixel area by the average value in the first block pixel area as a threshold value.
