ABSTRACT:
A data processing apparatus2is provided with one or more branch predictors10for generating branch predictions. A supervising predictor12is responsive to at least a stream of branch predictions to identify one or more cyclically recurring errors in the branch predictors and generate corrected behaviours for a prefetch unit4.
