ABSTRACT:
Hard magnetic core particles for use in the development of electrostatic latent images are produced by combining ferric oxide, a strontium oxide precursor, an oxygenated boron compound and a binder to form a mixture, wherein the strontium oxide precursor is preferably present in an amount that provides SrO in a molar amount that is in excess of a stoichiometric amount that provides a ratio of Fe2O3to SrO of 6/1. The mixture can be formed into green beads and the green beads can be fired to form the hard magnetic core particles.
