An electroluminescent device comprised of a polynuclear arylamine as represented by the formula (I) wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are aryl groups, A.sup.1 and A.sup.2 are biaryl groups, and P is a hydrocarbon bridge. ##STR1##
