ABSTRACT:
There is provided a process for bleaching kraft hardwood pulp wherein the bleaching is done utilizing the fungus Coriolus versicolor wherein the pulp is treated with the fungus at a temperature and for a time sufficient for the bleaching to occur. The pulp may subsequently be sterilized after bleaching.
