ABSTRACT:
In the process for effecting a continuous dehydrogenation of hydrocarbons to more unsaturated hydocarbons, particularly alkyl aromatic hydrocarbon to more unsaturated alkyl aromatic hydrocarbons, the improvement which comprises effecting the dehydrogenation with a catalyst comprising a mixture of iron oxide, potassium oxide, carbonate or mixtures thereof, vanadium oxide, optionally chromium oxide and an oxide selected from the group consisting of an oxide of aluminum, cadmium, magnesium, manganese, nickel, a member of the rare earth series, uranium and mixtures thereof.
