ABSTRACT:
A decoding apparatus and decoding method for performing iteration decoding the suitable number of iterations, and thereby securing the desired transmission quality while decreasing the processing delay. Turbo decoder301iterates error correcting decoding on input coded sequences. Error checker302decodes an error detecting code contained in a decoded result of the error correcting decoding, and checks whether or not an error remains in the decoded result in turbo decoder301.Iteration controller303instructs turbo decoder301to continue the iteration decoding until the number of iterations in the iteration decoding is more than or equal to the constraint number of iterations and error checker302determines no error in the decoded result.
