ABSTRACT:
An aqueous damping solution for the offset printing process contains a hydrolysis product of a compound of the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are identical or different and are each hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 9 carbon atoms or aryl of 6 to 12 carbon atoms, or a condensate of this hydrolysis product.
