ABSTRACT:
A combined machine for printing and scanning is capable of obtaining a consistent output value from an image pickup device by providing a light source, mounted to a frame, that irradiates a whole line to be scanned or printed. The light source is provided at the rear end of the head assembly which traverses the printing medium or scanning document. The device dries ejected ink in a short time by heat radiated from the light source when performing a printing operation.
