ABSTRACT:
Efficiency of chemical surface finishing baths for metal articles, particularly electrolytic baths for anodizing metals such as aluminum, magnesium or titanium is improved by incorporating into the bath an effective amount, typically from 0.1 to 50 grams per liter of the reaction product of a halide, such as boron trifluoride, and a trifluoro-alkaryl amine, suitably .alpha.,.alpha.,.alpha.,-trifluoro-m-toluidine.
