ABSTRACT:
The system and apparatus herein incorporate means for effectively and significantly reducing the liquid components of the fuel mixture passing through a cylinder located between the carburetor and the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. The invention includes a stationary circular array of radially arrayed overlapping slanted spaced baffles or blades located in the fuel stream. Formed or otherwise mounted on the lower or trailing edge of each blade is a radially extending flange or scoop which catches and projects liquid components from the fuel stream through a corresponding aperture in said cylinder and into a collection chamber surrounding said cylinder. The collection chamber contains a reticular, webbed, or porous material for retention and drainage of the excess liquid components. Additional means are provided to restore a desired quantity of liquid fuel to the fuel stream when the engine requires temporary surge or demand power. The apparatus herein is also useful in other contexts for removing liquid components from moving liquid-gaseous streams.
