ABSTRACT:
A bypass valve door includes a pivotable first end, a second end, and an inner surface for facing fluid flow in a bypass valve system. The door includes a seal seat extending obliquely from the door second end. In a preferred embodiment, both the door seal seat and first end are configured for providing seals with adjacent stationary structures when the door is positioned in a closed position. When the door is positioned in an open position, the inner surface is configured for providing an aerodynamically smooth fluid boundary with structures adjacent thereto.
