D747 (deposited as FERM BP-8234) and methods for controlling plant diseases and insect pests, comprising administering cultures ofBacillussp. D747 (including the viable bacteria) or viable bacteria isolated by culturing, on the plant parts such as roots, stems, leaves, seeds, and the like, or in the culture soil.
