ABSTRACT:
An apparatus and a method for signal processing in a digital video system. The apparatus for signal processing of a digital video system has: an input unit to receive a signal quantized for M bits; and an output unit to output a value of A for (2M−N−B)times and a value of A+1 for B times during vertical scan of 2M−Ntimes when a decimal value of high N bits is A and a decimal value of low bits of (M−N) excluding N bits is B and M>N. Accordingly, as an image signal quantized with a greater number of bits is displayed on a screen with a lesser number of bits, the quality of a picture can be improved.
