ABSTRACT:
A process for the demetalation of heavy petroleum residua is provided wherein said residua dispersed in a suitable solvent is contacted with a large pore solid sorbent whereby organomettalic compounds or complexes contained in said residua are selectively adsorbed by the large pore solid sorbent.
