ABSTRACT:
A 2,5-substituted-cyclohexane-1,4-dione of the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each is hydrogen or methyl; X is --COOR.sup.3 (R.sup.3 .dbd.H or alkyl), --CONR.sup.4 R.sup.5 (R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 each is hydrogen or alkyl) or --CN and a process for production of the above compound.
