ABSTRACT:
1-(Diarylmethyl)-4-piperidinamine and derivatives thereof of the formula ##STR1## or a non-toxic pharmocologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof; wherein Ar, Ar.sup.1 and Ar.sup.2 independently are phenyl, phenyl substituted with up to five halogens, alkyl radicals of 1 to 7 carbon atoms or alkoxy radicals of 1 to 7 carbon atoms, 3,4-(methylenedioxy)phenyl or pyridyl optionally substituted with up to four alkyl radicals of 1 to 7 carbon atoms; and R and R.sup.1 are each hydrogen or together form a double bond between the nitrogen and carbon atoms to which they are attached are disclosed. These compounds are useful because of their anti-convulsant and anti-ulcer activity.
