A microscope objective with magnification about 100.times. comprising six lens components wherein the third lens component is a cemented lens component consisting of three lens elements wherein the second lens element is a negative lens having strong power, the microscope objective being arranged that longitudinal chromatic aberration is corrected satisfactorily favorably and NA is larger than 0.9.
