ABSTRACT:
An improved game apparatus for a television and a control method thereof capable of playing a game using a remote controller and an OSD, which includes an operating unit for setting a certain mode and starting a game; an input/output controller for receiving the output signal of the operating unit; a game-exclusive ROM for outputting a game program in accordance with an output signal of the input/output controller; a game-exclusion RAM for storing a currently playing game state; an on-screen controller for outputting original color signals of an on-screen display so as to display a game state; a tuner for receiving a combined picture signal transferred from an antenna; a picture signal processing unit for receiving a combined picture signal outputted from the tuner and for outputting television picture original color signals; a first switch for outputting selectively outputting the original color signals of an on-screen display outputted from the on-screen controller and television picture original signals outputted from the picture processing unit in accordance with a control signal of a microprocessor, and a picture controller for displaying the original color signals outputted from the first switch on a screen of a television.
