ABSTRACT:
There is herein provided a method of electrocoating electroconductive substrates in an aqueous dispersion containing an active hydrogen-containing material which contains an ionic group, and a curing agent having a urethane-containing moiety of the structure: ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen, an alkyl, alkenyl or aryl group; wherein X is hydrogen, an alkyl, alkenyl or aryl group, or wherein X is a moiety of the structure: ##STR2## of which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are, each independently, hydrogen, an alkyl, alkenyl or aryl group, or members of a cyclic or heterocyclic group. The curing agent may be present as a separate component or be integral with the active hydrogen-containing material.
