ABSTRACT:
A structure for protecting impact-sensitive elements of electronic systems from external impact is used to protect electronic systems, such as portable computer, from impact. The above structure consists of a first member, a second member assembled with the first member into a single body, and a third member interposed between the first and second members and having a depressed seat on a surface facing the first member. A fourth member is seated in the depressed seat of the third member. A locking member assembles the first and second members into a single body while passing through the third member interposed between the first and second members, thus allowing the third member along with the fourth member to be supported by the first and second members. The above structure thus prevents impact energy from being transmitted to or damaging the fourth member when the system is impacted.
