ABSTRACT:
Thermosettable vinyl ester compositions are prepared from an advanced epoxy resin containing a mesogenic or rodlike moiety and a monounsaturated monocarboxylic acid and, optionally, a monoepoxide compound. These vinyl ester compounds can be mixed with polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated monomers which can, if desired, contain a mesogenic or rigid rodlike moiety.
