ABSTRACT:
A ball point member for use in a ball point pen wherein a plurality of circumferential grooves are formed on one side only of the outer surface of the tubular body of the point member near the point ball. The point member is bent about a center of bending displaced from the axis of the tubular body in a direction whereby the grooved surface is on the compression side of the bend and the non-grooved surface is on the tension side of the bend while maintaining a compressive force throughout the tubular member.
